Triumph Factory Racing’s Austin Forkner has been cleared of injury after sitting out San Diego, with the premier class newcomer expected to resume the brand’s 450SX project at Anaheim 2.

Forkner was classified 15th on the qualifying timesheets despite crashing in Q2, falling in a rhythm lane to effectively end his weekend altogether.

Although initially unscathed, it was the secondary impact from his TF 450-X that caused concern, with the on-site medical team advising a trip to the hospital for precautionary checks where he was cleared of any injuries.

“I am okay,” Forkner confirmed. “I crashed in the last qualifying session and got thrown off the bike, but I downsided one of the rhythm jumps perfectly with my body, so I thought I was fine. And then the bike came along and drilled me in the back, which at first I thought I might have broken some ribs.

“When I got back to the medic rig, showing them where it hurt, they said it was right around my kidney area. They thought it was a good idea for me to go to the hospital for a check, and it turns out that I am okay, just really stiff. I’ll probably hang around California this week – get some work done on it – and I should be good for A2.”

Both Forkner and Triumph are expected to continue their maiden campaign in the 450 division this Saturday in Angel Stadium, with Forkner filling in for Jordon Smith throughout the opening rounds of Monster Energy Supercross 2026.
