Chinese manufacturers ZXMOTO and Kove have confirmed their intention to enter the MXGP World Championship, establishing two-rider factory projects for 2027 and beyond.

While unrelated, both emerging brands announced on the eve of this weekend’s MXGP of China in Shanghai that they will join the series full-time next season.

“Going to Asia has always been part of our strategy,” stated Infront Moto Racing president and CEO, David Luongo. “We came to China to be ahead of this market, not to follow it, and today we are seeing the result – two Chinese manufacturers preparing full factory programs for 2027, and a third making its debut at our grand prix in Shanghai. That is exactly what a world championship should be doing.”

Using a platform developed between China and Europe, ZXMOTO has committed to entering MXGP from next year, with racing director Jesus Rincon indicating that testing is in progress and that the factory team structure is currently being finalised. ZXMOTO was formed in 2024, already winning races in the Supersport World Championship with its 820RR street bike.

Kove – founded in 2017 – had already revealed its plan to race MXGP, now formally announced by series organizer Infront Moto Racing, and with the target of being competitive in the long-term: “This is the beginning of a long-term factory racing program with one clear goal – to compete and establish Kove at the highest level of motocross.”
