A crash during Denver’s opening 450SX qualifying session left Joey Savatgy sidelined for the remainder of Monster Energy Supercross round 16, with the Quad Lock Honda rider confirming a dislocated wrist.

The 32-year-old arrived at Empower Field at Mile High following a season-best P4 result in Philadelphia, and was targeting sixth in the 450SX standings with two rounds remaining.

A mis-timed rhythm section during Saturday’s first session, however, brought an early end to his day in Colorado, confirming a dislocated wrist. He will undergo further scans this week to determine the extent of the injury.

“Tough day at the office yesterday,” recalled Savatgy. “[I] had a big one in qualifying that left me with a dislocated wrist. Scans at the medical unit and hospital showed nothing broken. I’ll have another scan this week, fingers crossed everything checks out.”

The injury marks a tough setback for Savatgy, who has delivered a standout 2026 Supercross campaign with the privately-run Honda program, highlighted by four top-five finishes and a further seven top-10 results.

Despite missing Denver, he remains seventh in the 450SX standings, five points clear of Malcolm Stewart (Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing) heading into this weekend’s season finale in Salt Lake City.
