250SMX contender injured in qualifying at St. Louis round.
A dislocated elbow sustained during the second 250SMX qualifying session in St. Louis will draw an early end to Max Vohland’s SuperMotocross World Championship (SMX) Playoffs season.
The Muc-Off ClubMX FXR Yamaha team rider went down after locking bars during the practice start, which sent him to the left and into the side of Levi Kitchen (Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki).
Slow to rise while nursing his right arm, Vohland would withdraw from the event, with a dislocated elbow the outcome of the incident and drawing an early end to his campaign. He avoided any fractures.
“I wanted to give everyone a quick update,” commented Vohland. “I ended up with a dislocated right elbow, [and] after a few X-rays at the hospital, they were able to reduce it pretty quickly. Luckily, no fractures, so it looks like a straightforward recovery.
“I’ll be starting my off-season a little earlier. I want to give a special thanks to my mechanic, who never stopped pushing and helped me develop a whole new way of riding this year. I’m looking forward to taking what we learned and building on it for an even stronger 2026 season.”
Vohland finished with both seventh in the 250SX East division and eighth in the 250MX Pro Motocross championship for 2025, marking what was a successful first season as part of the ClubMX program.
