Italian manufacturer to release race-ready premier class entry.
Ducati has lifted the covers on its race-ready 2026 Ducati Desmo450 MX Factory, featuring an Akrapovic titanium exhaust system and upgraded Showa suspension as part of an upgraded, premium package.
The Italian marque has taken another decisive step in its off-road evolution with a model that elevates the motocross project to its highest level yet.
At the heart of the Desmo450 MX Factory is a complete Akrapovic titanium exhaust system, paired with dedicated engine mapping developed specifically for this configuration. The system trims almost six pounds (1.7 kilograms) from overall weight while sharpening throttle response, improving power delivery, and producing a broader, more sustained torque curve. The result is a machine designed to deliver stronger drive out of corners and improved consistency across race distances.
Suspension performance has also been increased, with Showa components receiving factory treatment. The fork legs and shock body feature Dark Kashima coating, while TiO superfinishing on the internal stems and shock rod reduces friction and enhances resistance to wear and chipping. This combination is aimed at delivering smoother action, improved sensitivity, and long-term durability under the demands of professional-level racing.
Weight reduction continues through billet factory triple clamps, which shave almost 200 grams compared to the standard set-up. Protection has been enhanced with the addition of a skid plate and front disc guard, safeguarding critical components from mud, stones, and track debris, while the O-ring RK MXU chain – the same specification used on Ducati’s factory race bikes – improves durability and reliability over extended use.
Start performance has been addressed with the inclusion of a holeshot device as standard equipment on the Factory model. By compressing the front fork at the gate, the system increases stability and traction during launches, helping riders maximize acceleration as the gate drops. Electronic adjustability is expanded via a WiFi module that connects to Ducati’s X-Link app, allowing riders to fine-tune riding modes by adjusting throttle maps, launch control, engine braking, and Ducati traction control parameters to suit track conditions and personal preference.
Completing the package is a unique Ducati Corse livery, visually linking the Desmo450 MX Factory to the official machines competing in the MXGP World Championship.
