Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing has formalized Haiden Deegan’s 450 class transfer from 2026 as part of an upgraded new multi-year contract. He will contest one more season of 250SX, prior to stepping up outdoors and into the SMX post-season.

Deegan, 19, will officially join the factory Yamaha premier class program at the beginning of next year, remaining onboard the YZ250F through Monster Energy Supercross as part of his transition process.

Next summer in the 2026 Pro Motocross Championship is when Deegan is scheduled to switch to the YZ450F full-time, which will continue into the SuperMotocross World Championship (SMX) playoffs and beyond. That will then lead into his anticipated first full 450SX campaign in 2027.

“I am pumped to re-sign with Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing,” Deegan commented. “The plan will be to race the 250 in Supercross, and then make the move to the 450 class for motocross and SMX. I’m grateful for the opportunity and more fired up than ever – let’s keep grinding.”

Yamaha Racing department manager for YMUS, Jim Roach, added: “Yamaha Racing is excited to announce that Haiden Deegan has signed a multi-year contract to continue with the Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing team. Since joining the team, Haiden has earned significant achievements, and we look forward to continuing that success as he graduates to the 450 team.”

Since joining the team’s amateur program in the fall of 2021, Deegan has been a proven title contender. He completed an exceptional first full professional season in 2023 with Rookie of the Year honors in both Supercross and Pro Motocross, in addition to clinching the inaugural 250SMX crown.

In just three years, he has amassed an impressive number of titles and race wins aboard the team’s YZ250F, including back-to-back 250SMX titles (2023-2024), the 2024 Pro Motocross 250MX Championship and the 2025 250SX West title. He currently has seven 250SX wins, 12 250MX overalls, and three 250SMX victories to his credit.

With three rounds remaining of the outdoor series, it’s already been a storied season for Deegan. After claiming his first 250SX title with four wins and a total of nine podium finishes, he has gone on to launch a formidable Pro Motocross title defense.

Deegan has achieved five victories and 10 moto wins outdoors to date in 2025, securing him a 45-point lead in the 250MX championship and a 103-point lead in the combined 250SMX standings.
