License point sanctions for a total of 18 riders this weekend.
Race direction has issued an extensive list of rider penalties following the weekend’s Unadilla National, headlined by 450MX podium finisher Haiden Deegan after he received a single license point for an off-track infringement during moto one.
A total of 18 riders received sanctions, with eight of those – including Deegan, Nate Thrasher, Aden Keefer, Brodie Connolly, Cole Davies, Preston Masciangelo, Mitchell Harrison, and Mark Fineis – handed one license point each for going off-track.
Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Ryder DiFrancesco and 5.11 Triumph Factory Racing’s Deacon Denno each received two license point penalties, while Daxton Bennick was issued five license points, and Carson Mumford (AEO Powersports KTM) a more severe six license points penalty.
Topping the list was ClubMX Racing newcomer Jesson Turner, who received a 10-point penalty following 250MX moto one – resulting in having the last gate pick for the second moto after a track infringement in section 11.
Of the 18 penalties issued, 15 came from section 11 of the track, while all but one – Fineis – were handed out during the opening 250MX and 450MX motos. Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing rider Deegan’s sanction came in section 26, following the skyshot tabletop.
Both Chance Hymas (Honda HRC Progressive) and 250MX points leader Levi Kitchen (Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki) were investigated after moto one for section 11 violations, however, race direction issued no penalty to either rider.
Riders receive written warnings upon accumulating five license penalty points, followed by the last gate selection at 10 license penalty points, and then an automatic loss of 10 championship points plus a fine if they amount to the maximum of 15 license penalty points.
