Both the Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing team and 250MX rider Pierce Brown have made the decision to withdraw from the SuperMotocross World Championship (SMX) season in 2025, instead eyeing a complete reset for their 2026 campaign.

Brown has encountered a difficult first season with the Tallahassee-based Star Racing outfit that has yet to yield the pair a single race finish in both the Monster Energy Supercross and Pro Motocross seasons, despite having shown speed in each discipline.

While major injury was avoided during a sizeable impact at last Saturday’s Ironman National, the team and rider have agreed to park the YZ 250F for the remainder of the season, and focus on preparing for a full, fresh tilt next year.

“I’m at a loss for words from Ironman,” commented Brown. “I worked my butt off to get back to the races, and it was a bummer to have it go the way it did. I’m going to take some time for myself so I can get my body 100 percent for Supercross – we’ll take the wins from the weekend, learn from the losses, and move forward. Thanks to the team and everyone in my circle. We’ll be back!”

Brown showed speed in his initial season with the team, leading the series-opening 250SX East class main event in Tampa before a heavy impact resulted in a fractured T5 vertebra. He made a return to racing last Saturday in Ironman, although a moto one incident resulted in an early retirement.
