Unpacking moments and narratives that shaped the weekend.
There was a lot to unpack following Birmingham’s round of Monster Energy Supercross 2026, with our familiar Captured content feature taking on a whole new direction that you won’t want to miss. In defining a series of moments and narratives that shaped round 10, learn more about the weekend that was in illustration form.
It was not a good night for former 250SX East points leader Pierce Brown, who had problems in the heat race before a premature exit to the main event. No points scored sees him tumble to fifth in the standings, 26 markers down on teammate and series leader Cole Davies.
Triumph Factory Racing and Jordon Smith were in form at the 10th round. He scored ninth in the 450SX main event, which is the first top 10 in the premier division for both he and the TF 450-X.
Speaking of the Factory Triumph program, 250SX East rider Jalek Swoll was absent from the night program after doing some ‘damage’ to his right leg during qualifying. No official word has arrived yet, although it doesn’t sound overly promising at this stage.
Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Cole Davies and Chad Reed have an exchange during track walk. Something about the whoops, perhaps? Both are pretty handy at that section of the racetrack.
Although the result didn’t stand due to a post-race penalty, Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Haiden Deegan was the class of the 250SX field. Even with the East/West Showdown, the defending Western regional champion came from a midfield start to first, passing all his main rivals and stamping his authority in the quarter-liter division.
Eli Tomac and Justin Cooper came together in the second 450SX heat race, which sent the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing rider to the Last Chance Qualifier [LCQ]. He qualified for the main event and eventually finished third – with Cooper in P4 – although it was a frightening collision between the pair.
Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Aaron Plessinger crashed towards the latter stages of the main event, withdrawing from the encounter and nursing his left foot. He was cleared of injury by the Alpinestars Medical Unit, but the tough season continues for the number seven.
It’s an easy time to be a Hunter Lawrence fan, the Honda HRC Progressive rider claimed his third 450SX victory of the season in Birmingham convincingly, opening his points lead to nine over Tomac with seven rounds remaining. He’s remaining level-headed despite the success – something that likely will bode well down the stretch.
