Round eight of the 2026 Pro Motocross Championship took the series to the scenic Washougal circuit in Washington, where the 250MX and 450MX title fights continued to evolve. Revisit the action through our Captured feature, highlighting the defining moments from the weekend in illustrated form.

Washougal has been recognized as one of the most picturesque – and technical – circuits on the schedule, a nod to the Pacific Northwest.

Just when you think we’re starting to get some consistency in the 250MX division, another plot twist reveals itself, and we’re thrown right back into the chaos. After scoring 16th overall at Millville and facing a 25-point deficit to Levi Kitchen, Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Cole Davies went 1-1 at Washougal and erased the gap to just seven points. The category has been wild this year, and with three rounds remaining, something tells us that the drama is not over yet.

In 450MX, it’s undeniable that the Lawrence brothers have raised the benchmark to another level in 2026. While Haiden Deegan is a class rookie and Jorge Prado is in his first season with Red Bull KTM in American motocross, the level at which the brothers continue to outperform such highly credentialed rivals has been remarkable. The crashes are likely a by-product of just how hard they’re pushing one another. Both riders – including Jett – are operating right on the limit, and for fans, it’s made for compelling viewing. To put their pace into perspective, Prado finished 51 seconds adrift in moto one, while Deegan was 18 seconds behind in race two.

Starts have long been Levi Kitchen’s Achilles heel, and perhaps now more than ever, both he and Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki must solve that weakness if they’re to secure the 250MX title. He found himself on the ground in turn one of moto one, before completing the opening lap of race two in 12th. Davies, by comparison, started both races inside the top three, and the contrast in track position ultimately shaped the outcome of their respective weekends.

Haiden Deegan started Washougal by qualifying fastest, and many thought – given his previous success at the venue – that Washougal would be one of his best opportunities at a win. That theory came unstuck moments into moto one, where a holeshot was quickly followed by a turn one crash, with the beginning of the front-end tuck pictured here.

Ryder Difrancesco pieced together a consistent day of Pro Motocross racing on Saturday, inclusive of two good starts and two solid finishes. While RedBud’s podium was impressive, it was still a 6-3 score, whereas 2-2 at Washougal leaves no doubt about the podium-level pace – he was clearly the second-best rider. He mentioned that was the goal: “To put a whole day together was my goal coming into the round. To take 2-2 on the day for second overall, I’m stoked with the results.”

The last two rounds have seen an uptick in performance out of the Troy Lee Designs Red Bull Ducati team, with Dylan Ferrandis fifth and Justin Barcia seventh on Saturday. Bam Bam was also fifth at Spring Creek, with things trending in the right direction for the Desmo 450MX.

A tough after-moto expression from Prado following 3-4 results. As mentioned, the four-time world champion faced a 51-second gap in moto one and was over a minute behind in race two. The question is how to bridge that, given the Lawrences train and ride together, and continue to elevate their pace day after day?

Garrett Marchbanks’ Monster Energy Kawasaki KX450SR decked out in a special one-off livery to celebrate the Military Appreciation Race. Unfortunately for Garrett, after qualifying second, his weekend was cut short following a harsh get-off early in moto one. No updates have been released regarding any potential injuries as yet.

5.11 Triumph Factory Racing’s Jordon Smith notched a career-high 8-8 score for eighth overall in Washington. He’s been pretty solid so far in Pro Motocross 2026 to date, and is currently ranked 10th overall.

Carson Mumford also captured a career-high finish at Washougal, claiming fourth overall in what was a convincing day of racing for the 24-year-old.
