Toyota Redlands BarX Racing has re-signed Lux Turner through the 2027 and 2028 SMX seasons following his breakout year in Monster Energy Supercross and Pro Motocross.

The 21-year-old is regarded as one of the most capable new talents in the Monster Energy SMX World Championship, extending his deal with the BarX team for two more years.

“Inking my deal for the next two years feels amazing,” Turner said. “The team and myself are building together to get to the next step, and I believe the next two years with Toyota Redlands BarX Racing will be amazing and we are going to surprise a lot of people.

“Within the first few weeks of being here I knew that I really enjoyed being a part of this team and it’s only been up from there. Everyone on the team works well together and it’s a good environment to excel in.

“Next year, plain and simple, the goal is to land on the podium and be up front and in the fight at every round. I feel relieved that I have a home for the next two years – it will allow me to focus even more on the races ahead and grow and build stronger for the future.”

BarX Racing is co-owned by Myron Short – of race organizer 2X Promotions – and Paul Smith, president of Toyota of Redlands. The team has been linked to Husqvarna for next season, but Turner is also lined up to contest the Australian AUSX championship in SX2 with Monster Energy Yamalube Yamaha later this year.

“Myron and I are really excited to have Lux with us for the next two years,” Smith stated. “Since he joined Toyota of Redlands BarX Racing, we’ve both enjoyed getting to know him, not only as a rider, but also as a person. He fits in great with this team, he works hard, and you can tell he genuinely wants to be here and be a part of what we’re building.

“We both believe in Lux and what he’s capable of. He has the speed, the talent, and most importantly, the drive to keep getting better. We feel like we’re just starting to see what he can do.

“As owners, our job is to give Lux and the rest of our riders the support and tools they need to go out and compete with the best teams in the sport, but in return they have to do the work. We know what we’re up against, but that’s what makes it exciting. We’re not just here to fill the gate – we want to compete.”

Despite entering the 250SX West series with a recovering wrist injury, Turner claimed a season-best result of P6 in Denver on his way to 10th in the final standings. He currently sits 17th in the 250MX category of Pro Motocross with three rounds remaining, finishing inside the top-10 at Fox Raceway (seventh) and Spring Creek (10th).
