No current timeline on New Zealander’s return to competition.
A crash in preparation for the upcoming 250SX East series will delay Quad Lock Honda signing Brodie Connolly’s Monster Energy Supercross debut, with the New Zealander sidelined while recovering from a back injury.
The 22-year-old recently returned to riding after breaking his scaphoid leading into last year’s Boost Mobile AUSX Supercross Championship, with the double Australian MX2 champion having since relocated to the United States.
Connolly was scheduled to make his first start in the Eastern Division of 250SX this weekend at Arlington’s AT&T Stadium, but the Yarrive Konsky-owned organisation has now confirmed he’ll be out for the immediate future and with no firm timeline on a return to competition.
“Unfortunately, Brodie crashed while preparing to return from a previous injury,” Konsky told MotoOnline. “The sport can be brutal at times. At this stage, we’re unsure of the timeline for his return, but his progress leading into this setback was extremely impressive. Overall, we see this as just that – a setback.
“He is contracted with us for the next two years, and we are completely behind him. We understand the realities of racing at this level, and we have no doubt in his talent or his ability to come back strong.”
The 2026 season marks Connolly’s first full-time appearance in the Monster Energy SMX World Championship, having made three cameo appearances in 250MX during Pro Motocross – at Ironman, Unadilla and Budds Creek – with Quad Lock Honda last year.
While Connolly’s supercross experience is limited after missing AUSX altogether in 2025, he did finish third in the 2024 Australian SX2 standings behind Shane McElrath and Cole Thompson with multiple podiums to his credit.
