Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Nate Thrasher has outlined multiple injuries sustained in that 250SX East main event fall at Atlanta, indicating surgery is on the cards following the incident where he dislocated his hip and suffered a broken collarbone.

Thrasher, a previous winner at Atlanta Motor Speedway, delivered a solid performance at the iconic venue to qualify fastest and emerge victorious in heat number two.

While running fourth in the main event, he crashed in the whoops which brought an end to his charge in the final. Thrasher entered the round as the closest challenger to red plate-holder Hunter Lawrence (Team Honda HRC), but the injuries revealed will likely see him sidelined for the remainder of the Supercross season.

“We had a perfect day going at Atlanta,” Thrasher shared. “Going P1 in qualifying and then getting the heat race win. Unfortunately, I had a hard crash in the main which caused me to dislocate my hip plus break my collarbone.

“They were able to put my hip back in place but, when I got a CAT scan they noticed a few bone fragments so we are still waiting to get surgery on that.”

Thrasher has scored four podiums throughout 2023 250SX East, with three seconds (Tampa, Indy and Detroit) and a victory at Arlington. No targetted return date has been revealed yet for the number 29.
