Health issues continue to affect Monster Energy Kawasaki rider.
Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Jason Anderson will miss the remainder of the 2025 SuperMotocross World Championship (SMX) season as he shifts focus to his health, the team has confirmed.
Anderson, 32, has faced ongoing challenges this year, stepping away from racing during the Monster Energy Supercross season before returning in time for the start of Pro Motocross.
The 2018 450SX champion finished seventh on two occasions upon return – Fox Raceway and High Point – but was sidelined again following the RedBud National earlier this month. The exact nature of his health issues isn’t clear at this point.
“Monster Energy Kawasaki rider Jason Anderson will miss the remainder of the SuperMotocross season to focus on his health,” a team announcement stated.
“The number 21 has shown the speed to run at the front, but his health has kept him from delivering the consistent results he expects. Anderson and the team have decided it is best for him to take the appropriate amount of time to focus on getting healthy.”
Anderson’s absence means his 2025 season has come to an early end, and with it being a contract year for the New Mexico native, it also signals the conclusion of his time with Kawasaki – expected to announce the signing of Chase Sexton for 2026.
