Second moto retirement results in P15 overall finish at round six.
Ongoing health issues for Jason Anderson continued to plague him at the RedBud National on Saturday, as the Monster Energy Kawasaki rider retired from the second moto and finished outside the top 10 overall for the second-consecutive weekend.
The 2025 Pro Motocross Championship has been a trying run for last year’s fifth-place finisher in the series, who is yet to claim a top-five after six rounds and currently sits 10th overall in the standings.
After qualifying 14th, Anderson would take a 10th-place finish in the opening moto of the day, before a strong start in the second race had him in P5 on the first lap. It was at the midway point, however, that the number 21 would pull into the pits and exit the race.
“I didn’t have my best performance today,” recalled Anderson. “I qualified 14th overall, which is a bit slower than usual for me… I was more focused on the day ahead. Moto one, I started around eighth and tried to battle with the guys around me, but ended up getting 10th.
“Moto two, I had to pull off early because I wasn’t feeling 100 percent. I’m still having some issues with my health – I need to check on that and see how everything is, and we’ll go from there.”
Anderson – the 2018 450SX Supercross champion – is off contract with the Monster Energy Kawasaki team at the conclusion of the year and is expected to be replaced by Chase Sexton, with Anderson’s future remaining up in the air entering round seven at Millville this weekend.
