Pro Motocross newcomer Drew Adams will sit out round five of the championship this weekend at Southwick, with a late-race crash during High Point’s second 250MX moto resulting in a broken left index finger.

Finishing 16th in moto one, the Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki rider experienced an eventful second race at the fourth round, including two incidents which ultimately resulted in his current injury.

In his first full season of Pro Motocross, Adams scored a career-high P5 moto finish during race one at Thunder Valley, and currently sits 16th overall in the 250MX championship.

“In moto two [at High Point], I got off to a decent start and was moving forward, but had a little tip-over,” recalled Adams. “[I] got going again, made up a few spots, and then unfortunately went down a second time and broke my left index finger.”

A timeline on Adams’ recovery is yet to be determined, however the 17-year-old sits on the bubble of earning a placement in the SuperMotocross World Championship (SMX) Playoffs beginning in September, currently positioned 18th in the overall 250 seeding.
