Phoenix Racing Honda rider Dylan Ferrandis will sit out the upcoming 2025 Pro Motocross Championship, which commences at Fox Raceway on May 24, after the former 450MX national champion announced that a stress fracture to his left leg will sideline him for the summer.

After taking seventh place in the 450SX standings, Ferrandis has since revealed that the injury is one he has been dealing with all season, further aggravating it in the week leading up to Salt Lake City after initially seeing improvements.

It’s a tough blow for the 2021 premier class title winner, who typically excels outdoors and is coming off what was a solid season of Monster Energy Supercross, highlighted by two fifth-place finishes at both East Rutherford and Seattle.

“Supercross season done, finished P7 for the championship,” commented Ferrandis. “Unfortunately, I will not race this summer. I have a stress fracture on my left leg, [which] I [have] been dealing with all season. I thought I got rid of it lately, but it came back last week. Bummer because I love the outdoors, [the] plan is to be back for SMX and maybe the last couple rounds of MX.”

It’s unclear the full extent of the damage done to his leg, however, it appears both Ferrandis and the team will take all necessary precautions for their marquee rider to return at full strength when his condition allows.
