There are a total of five riders in title contention entering Salt Lake’s 17th and final round of Supercross 2025 – Tom Vialle, Seth Hammaker and RJ Hampshire in 250SX East, in addition to the 450SX title-fight between Cooper Webb and Chase Sexton. Each of them commented on their title prospects earlier at Rice-Eccles Stadium as part of this Input feature.

Tom Vialle (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing):
Yeah, to be honest, I’m pretty happy to be to be here – two weeks ago that win was really important for me. I had to do it to be right there and yeah, a lot different than last year when I had a nice 15-point gap and no… I mean, the goal is I think pretty easy and I have to beat those two guys to to be able to win the championship, so that’s only one thing on my mind and I’m gonna do everything I can tomorrow to do that.

Seth Hammaker (Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki):
I am up against the both of of the defending champions from last year so it feels like an honor to be racing them. I’m ready to go out there and just put my best foot forward each and every time on the track. First time being in this position in a championship fight, so it’s what we work hard for, and I’m grateful to be in this position. I mean, we’ve got the East/West Showdown, so we have guys from the West, so we’re gonna have to kind of outweigh the situation, how the start plays out tomorrow night and see where we’re at. You know, it’s not over until it’s over – I just gotta remember that and fight all the way to the end. If I do what I’ve been doing, I feel like I have a good shot at this one.

RJ Hampshire (Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing):
I was tied last year coming here so there was nothing more stressful than that. I mean, I slept great this week, had a good week, and all my nerves I think kind of were settled last year. Like they’ve all said, it all comes down to, you know, one man and 15-plus one. It’s clear you need to put yourself the best position possible, but I’m ready to go.

Cooper Webb (Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing):
Oh yeah, I mean it’s been a tight battle all season, so it’s super-cool to get here – it’s fun to to be in the hunt like this, to be so close.
I think for me, you know, it’s easy to look at what it is and you know, sit back and do that, but I’d like to race like I normally race… That’s what’s been working for me and, yeah, I love racing here in Salt Lake. I’ve had a lot of success here, so I’m gonna go for the win if it’s there, obviously, and if it’s not, you know, you kind of adjust your race strategy. As long as I keep the normal mindset of going out there to try to and execute on Saturday, that’s usually the best place to be.

Chase Sexton (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing):
It just depends on what happens after the start, because you never can really plan a race out perfect. It’s kind of this, you have to wing it, and for me, obviously I just wanna go out there and try and win the race – that’s my goal.
So yeah, as of right now, just do my thing and see where the cards fall, but it’s racing and anything can happen. I’m gonna need help tomorrow night to win, so we’ll see what happens.
