Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Haiden Deegan enters this Saturday’s race in Denver with a mathematical chance to clinch his first-career 250SX title, holding a 17-point lead at the top of the western division standings.

While Deegan has stood atop the podium twice this year, his consistency has kept him in control of the red plate.
Now, with the penultimate round at Empower Field looming, he has a shot at putting the championship out of reach for his rivals if results fall his way.

Teammate Cole Davies remains in the title hunt and could still snatch the crown based on AMA tie-breaker rules. If Davies wins both remaining rounds, and Deegan drops enough points for Davies to tie, four total victories would edge out Deegan’s two.

For Deegan to clinch the title this weekend in Denver, if he were to win, he’d need Davies to finish at least P5. If Deegan finishes second, Davies would need to be P8 or worse. A third-place result for Deegan would require Davies to be 10th or worse.

While the possibilities are plenty, the magic number remains an eight-point swing in favor of Deegan to clinch the title with a round to spare.

A 250SX title is the final piece missing from Deegan’s quickly-established resume in the 250 category, having already claimed two 250SMX crowns and last year’s 250MX Pro Motocross Championship.
