Monster Energy Kawasaki rider out with dislocated right shoulder.
MXGP champion Jorge Prado’s first full season in Monster Energy Supercross has been put on pause after dislocating his shoulder during qualifying at Anaheim 2, later detailing the mishap that put him out of contention.
The 24-year-old Spaniard crashed in the second session this afternoon and was caught up in the safety nets, which led to the injury of his right shoulder.
“I over-jumped that quad a little bit and I went straight into the berm,” he explained. “I tried to grab onto the net because I didn’t have anywhere to go. As soon as I grabbed it, I popped out my shoulder. It’s a shame because the crash wasn’t very big, it was a little mistake, but with the net on the berm, I just couldn’t avoid it – I grabbed it and my shoulder came out. 30 seconds later my shoulder popped back in, it’s feeling good right now, not very painful, but I need to sit out and see tomorrow or Monday how it is. Nothing’s broken.”
According to Kawasaki, further information will be released on his status for upcoming races once available: “Following a crash during the first qualifying session, Jorge Prado has dislocated his shoulder and will sit out the night show at Anaheim 2. Stay tuned for more updates on Jorge and his return to racing.”
Prado came into the Anaheim 2 round of the 2025 season positioned 12th in the 450SX point-standings after finishing 14th at Anaheim 1 and then 12th in San Diego last weekend.
