Promising 250SX debut with Pro Circuit in San Diego ends early.
Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki has confirmed that Ty Masterpool will be ruled out of multiple 250SX West rounds while recovering from an injury sustained in San Diego.
After missing the opening round and originally slated to ride the eastern region, Masterpool was drafted in to replace Levi Kitchen from round two.
Masterpool qualified eighth on combined times in his first Monster Energy Supercross appearance with the Pro Circuit team and then placed fourth in his heat race.
An error in the main event while circulating inside the top 10 saw him go down in the rhythm prior to the Supercross triple and out of the race altogether. While Kawasaki hasn’t specified his injury, it’s understood that he has broken fingers from the impact on Saturday night.
With the Pro Circuit team again reduced to a single rider in Garrett Marchbanks on the west coast, it could put amateur prospect and official fill-in rider Drew Adams in a position to debut at Anaheim 2.
