The future of Carson Mumford has been made official after signing with Fire Power Honda, the newfound deal to commence effective immediately and span through the 2025 season.

Mumford has transferred across to the Martin Davalos-led organization following a short stint at MCR Honda, and will effectively replace the Max Anstie next year when he heads to Star Racing Yamaha – that move to be confirmed.

Fire Power Honda has spring-boarded a mixture of riders to success since entering US competition under the ownership of Yarrive Konsky in 2020, with 22-year-old Mumford motivated to make a similar impact on the team’s CRF250R after claiming a best finish of fifth in San Francisco this season. Mumford’s signing also addresses speculation that the team wouldn’t be continuing into next year.

“MCR was great and I want to thank them for their efforts,” Mumford commented. “The Fire Power Honda opportunity gives me a chance to race around the world and work with Martin and the team, which I believe is invaluable. I have seen what Anstie and the others have achieved.

“[Mitchell] Oldenburg and [Luke] Clout were impressive in their first year, [Justin] Brayton scored a podium in the 450s, Jordon Smith scored top-fives and reignited his career, and Anstie won races and finished third overall. This team has proven themselves and I can see why—they have everything a rider needs to perform at their best.”

In addition to Monster Energy Supercross 2025, Mumford will prepare in the Australian Supercross Championship with Konsky’s factory-backed Honda Racing team at the end of this year. Anstie is also contracted to defend his SX2 title prior to switching teams, however, it’s unclear if the team will continue in the World Supercross Championship (WSX).
