Muc-Off FXR ClubMX Yamaha’s Phil Nicoletti raced his final Monster Energy Supercross race at Salt Lake City and put in one of his best rides of the season with a P10 finish in the 250SX East/West Showdown. Amidst a weekend full of farewells, Nicoletti admitted that he put everything into his final ride in Supercross to empty the tank one last time.

“To end the night with a 10th and one of the best main events I’ve ridden in a long time, it made me feel pretty good,” said Nicoletti. “My tank is empty for Supercross and I’m really looking forward to outdoors. It was an emotional week just with the press conference and everything. Even at 35, stuff like that is still pretty stressful on me. It means a lot.”

Nicoletti was part of the finale press conference on Friday where he got to talk about his career and then he was able to do a parade lap in opening ceremonies with fellow outgoing rider Adam Cianciarulo. Not one to be emotional, Nicoletti said that doing those things meant a lot to him and he was very grateful of Feld Motor Sports for including him.

It’s not over yet though for Nicoletti as he still plans to race all of AMA Pro Motocross on a 450 this summer and compete in the SuperMotocross World Championship in September before he rides off into the sunset. For now, his Supercross chapter is complete and he’s excited to get after it outdoors.
