The future of Dylan Ferrandis has been confirmed through the 2024 season, the Frenchman officially signing a deal with the Phoenix Racing Honda team next year onboard a CRF450R.

Ferrandis, 29, makes the switch after a long stint with Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing, which saw him win the 2020 250MX championship, plus the 450MX title the following year on debut.

With Cooper Webb, Eli Tomac and Justin Cooper to feature in Star Racing’s 450 program next year, it became evident that Ferrandis would not continue. Despite early rumours that he would join HEP Suzuki, he was recently seen testing with Phoenix Racing and he will contest the entire 2024 SuperMotocross World Championship (SMX).

Part of former multi-time 250SX West champion Ferrandis’ deal with Phoenix Racing is the addition of Factory Connection, which will see Rick ‘Ziggy’ Zielfelder an integral part of the organisation after working with Ferrandis in the final stages of Pro Motocross this year.

“I’ve always wanted to race a Honda and Phoenix Racing has given me the opportunity to do so,” said Ferrandis. “David Eller has been super-nice with my situation and working towards building a program that will work for me. This includes working with Factory Connection, which is something that was very important for me in 2024.

“So far everything has been really great and the feeling on the bike is exactly what I was looking for. Having Ziggy around, with all his experience in the sport, I really feel at home with him and the whole Phoenix Racing team. The vibe is awesome and I’m very thankful to be in this situation”

The opening round of the 2024 Monster Energy Supercross Championship takes place at Angel Stadium, Anaheim, on 6 January, with Chase Sexton (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) entering as the defending number one.
