A 1-1 scorecard saw Team HRC’s Tim Gajser conclude the 2023 MXGP World Championship on the best foot, as Jago Geerts completed his MX2 stint on top at Matterley Basin.

Gajser’s victory sweep on Sunday saw him convincingly take the overall at the MXGP of Great Britain, while a 2-4 scorecard secured Jeremy Seewer (Monster Energy Yamaha) second for the round.

Kawasaki Racing Team’s Romain Febvre went 5-2 for third, as Monster Energy Yamaha’s Glenn Coldenhoff (3-5) and Team HRC’s Ruben Fernandez (6-3) completed the top five.

MXGP champion Jorge Prado (Red Bull GasGas Factory Racing) won the qualifying race and was fourth in moto one, but an early fall in moto two left him on the back foot and he would ultimately take the checkers P18, landing 10th overall for the round.

Prado was crowned champion last time out in Italy, with Febvre second and Seewer third in the 2023 MXGP World Championship standings.
