Laengenfelder tops MX2 amidst challenging conditions at Uddevalla.

Monster Energy Yamaha’s Jeremy Seewer secured the MXGP of Sweden overall victory with a win in moto two, as Simon Laengenfelder emerged on top in MX2 at Uddevalla.
Overnight rain prior to Sunday’s motos made conditions challenging, but a 3-1 scorecard for Seewer saw him end Romain Febvre’s round-winning streak.
The Kawasaki Racing Team rider was just one point shy of Seewer and potentially making it six round wins in a row, while red plate-holder and qualifying race winner Jorge Prado (Red Bull GasGas Factory Racing) was third with a 1-6 scorecard.
In his second round back from injury, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Jeffrey Herlings was fourth with 8-4 results, as Pauls Jonass (Standing Construct Honda) completed the top five courtesy of 4-10 finishes.
On return, Maxime Renaux (Monster Energy Yamaha) was sixth overall, notably scoring a P3 finish in race two.
After 15 rounds of the 2023 MXGP World Championship, Prado holds a healthy 98-point lead in the standings ahead of Febvre, while Seewer is third and a further 69 points back.

In MX2, Laengenfelder (Red Bull GasGas Factory Racing) narrowly missed a perfect scorecard on Sunday and he handled the conditions best to take the overall victory.
Laengenfelder went 1-2 – just 0.928s from the win in race two – to lead Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Liam Everts (2-3) on the day, while red plate-holder Andrea Adamo (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) recovered from an early moment on the start straight and P10 in race one to win the second moto, landing third overall in Sweden.
Monster Energy Yamaha’s Rick Elzinga was fourth thanks to 3-5 scores, as Camden Mc Lellan (Honda) completed the top five with 9-4 finishes.
Qualifying race winner Kevin Horgmo (F&H Kawasaki) had a more challenging Sunday, finishing fourth in moto one before a mechanical issue forced him out of podium contention in race two.
Meanwhile, Lucas Coenen (Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing) suffered a huge fall in timed practice which saw him sidelined through round 15.
Looking at the 2023 MX2 World Championship standings, Adamo leads on 663, with Everts second on 583 and Jago Geerts (Monster Energy Yamaha) – who did not race at Sweden as he continues to recover – third with 559.
