A win in the final moto in RedBud’s fifth round of the 2023 Pro Motocross Championship will add instrumental momentum to Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Levi Kitchen’s outdoor campaign approaching halfway.

It marked the second-career race win for Kitchen in 250MX, his first coming at Thunder Valley last season when he won the opening moto of the day. His 7-1 scores placed him P2 overall.

“After that [moto] I was pretty disappointed,” said Kitchen. “I didn’t [color] my hair for nothing [laughs], so I got out to a good start and got the moto win in the second one. I was stoked!”

“I just have to work on the starts a little bit, then I think I should be up here more. I’m looking forward to the rest of the season, the tracks we’re coming up to, I really enjoy them. I’ll definitely do my best to keep the momentum going and try to be up here every weekend.”

Following his win in the final moto, Kitchen now sits P5 in the 250MX championship as the series heads to Southwick for round six of the 2023 season. He’s now 46 points behind series leader Hunter Lawrence (Team Honda HRC), who still maintains the lead despite crashing out of the final moto on Saturday.
