The injured Christian Craig is targeting a return for the second half of the outdoor season, aiming to compete in the last five rounds of the 2023 Pro Motocross Championship.

Craig made the switch to Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing for 2023 and stepped up to 450SX in Monster Energy Supercross after claiming the 250SX West title last year.

His best result in Supercross this season came at Detroit where he finished P6, but a crash in the whoops while practising at Glendale left the number 28 with a list of injuries, sidelining him for the 450SX remainder and opening rounds of Pro Motocross.

“I’m about three weeks out from riding,” Craig said in the pre-season press conference at Fox Raceway. “Not a lot for me right now, just healing, getting ready and I’m planning to make the last five rounds, so just aim for that and try and get some good results.

“Obviously, the year has been the greatest for me, but I know I have the speed and the talent to run up front, so that’s the plan.

Craig finished fifth in the 450MX standings last season with Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing. In the 11-round 2023 Pro Motocross Championship, the final five rounds commence with Spring Creek on 15 July.
