Double 450SX champion Cooper Webb will seek further medical evaluation after crashing out of today’s 15th round of the 2023 Monster Energy Supercross Championship in Nashville.

Webb, 27, was transported to hospital after crashing on lap one of the opening heat race, incidentally struck by Adam Cianciarulo (Monster Energy Kawasaki) in the process.

Red Bull KTM Factory Racing has since confirmed that Webb was transported from Nissan Stadium to hospital for additional scans, with an update not expected until he sees his doctor upon return home to Florida.

Webb entered Tennessee second in the 2023 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship standings, 11 points outside of red plate-holder Eli Tomac (Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing). However, following Webb’s exit today, Tomac now has an 18-point advantage over Chase Sexton (Team Honda HRC), with Webb a further 16 back in third.

It was a bruising night for the 450SX field, with Justin Barcia (TLD Red Bull GasGas) and also crashing out of contention. Former champion Jason Anderson (Monster Energy Kawasaki) went down in his heat, but returned for the LCQ and went onto take P6 in the main event.
