Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Cooper Webb still maintains a 100 percent strike-rate in terms of podium finishes at Daytona Supercross, with P2 in the main event on Saturday marking his sixth-consecutive 450SX top-three at the iconic venue.

First competing at Daytona International Speedway onboard a YZ450F in 2018, Webb has stood on the Supercross podium in Florida every year since courtesy of two third-place results (2018, 2020) and four second-place finishes (2019,2021,2022,2023).

Webb was right in contention at round eight of the 2023 Monster Energy Supercross Championship for an elusive main event victory at Daytona, leading throughout the race to ultimately finish second to red plate-holder Eli Tomac (Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing) by 1.791s.

“Daytona has always been good to me, been on the podium every time I have raced, and I have been close twice now [to victory],” Webb explained. “It’s nice just to sleep in our own bed, I drove up and had a good weekend.

“Moving forward, I really like Indy, Detriot, Seattle, Salt Lake, so obviously a lot of good rounds coming up, but yeah I guess it’s just nice to race where I live now in Florida.”

Monster Energy Supercross now moves to Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis, this Saturday for round nine of the 2023 season as Webb trails Tomac by five points in the title-race.
