Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s RJ Hampshire has confirmed that he will make the step to 450SX at Daytona, marking his debut in the premier class of AMA Supercross.

Hampshire teased towards the end of last month that he would make a 450SX appearance, with the number 24 currently second in 250SX West standings with the region currently on break.

He will line-up alongside Christian Craig on Saturday, bringing the team’s 450SX program back to two riders for Daytona with regular Malcolm Stewart sidelined for an extended duration following knee surgery.

“Let’s give it a go!” Hampshire shared.”See you this weekend in Daytona on the 450! Thank you to the ones that made it happen and gave me this opportunity.”

This weekend’s race at Daytona marks the eighth round in the 2023 Monster Energy Supercross Championship, with defending champion Eli Tomac (Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing) the current red plate-holder in 450SX.
