Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Stilez Robertson has done his confidence a world of good heading into the 250SX West break, landing on the podium with a third overall at the first Triple Crown event of the season at Angel Stadium.

The 20-year-old has continued to progress in the right direction since Anaheim 1 where he finished the night in ninth place, followed by P6 at San Diego’s Snapdragon Stadium.

“[A podium] definitely boosts the confidence and team morale,” commented Robertson. “We were kind of struggling, and everyone was making sure to let us know [laughs]. I think being on the box here is really good for us.

“We’ve been working really hard at the [Goat] farm with everybody and I think from now on, we’ll hopefully just keep trending in this direction. Obviously, it heads east now, but I’m already excited for Oakland. But, I still need to be a little better, so we’ll get to work.”

As the series moves to Houston to commence rounds on the Eastern region, Robertson – who is now fifth in the standings – and the 250SX West riders have the chance to rest and reset before their season resumes at Oakland on 18 February.

“I’m honestly just going to chill,” Robertson added. “I’m sure we’ll still be doing some riding, I think me and Levi [Kitchen] are probably going to get a little sketchy this week on the big boy bikes [laughs]. But honestly, I’m just going to watch some drag racing and chill.”
