Ferrandis sidelined again ahead of Ironman national

Lower back pain puts current champion out of penultimate round.

Current Lucas Oil Pro Motocross champion Dylan Ferrandis has been sidelined again ahead of the Ironman national, the Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing rider affected by lower back pain.

Ferrandis missed the opening eight rounds with a thumb injury before returning at Unadilla, but contact with Justin Barcia (TLD Red Bull GasGas) at Budds Creek has ruled him out yet again.

“Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Dylan Ferrandis tried to ride yesterday, but unfortunately will miss this weekend’s Pro Motocross Ironman national with some lower back pain from last weekend’s crash. The reigning champ aims to be back for the season finale at Pala,” an update via the team confirmed.”

Ferrandis claimed an encouraging seventh overall at Unadilla upon return with a season-high of fourth in the opening moto. Budds Creek saw him sixth in moto one, however, how was unable to finish the second outing after the Barcia clash.
