MX2 red plate changes hands once more with Geerts victory.

Monster Energy Yamaha MXGP’s Jeremy Seewer returned to the top step of the overall podium at Loket as teammate Maxime Renaux made a heroic comeback from injury to land a victory in race two, while the MX2 red plate changed hands once more with Jago Geerts securing P1 on the day.
Seewer grabbed the holeshot in race one of the MXGP of the Czech Republic and bettered Jorge Prado (Red Bull GasGas Factory Racing) and Tim Gajser (Team HRC) to secure the lead in the early stages.
The number 91 ultimately took the moto one victory ahead of Gajser and Renaux, and finished third to his teammate in race two to secure the overall, as Renaux’s 3-1 scorecard landed him P2 in his first race back since Germany where he fractured his back in the qualifying race. Gajser completed the overall podium courtesy of a 2-3 scorecard.
A pair of fourths secured Glenn Coldenhoff (Monster Energy Yamaha MXGP) P4 for the day, as Prado was fifth courtesy of 5-5 moto scores.
Gajser still enjoys a comfortable buffer at the head of the 2022 MXGP World Championship standings, 125 points ahead of Seewer after 13 rounds with Prado a further 10 points back.

An overall victory for Monster Energy Yamaha MX2’s Jago Geerts at Loket saw him retake the red plate from title-rival Tom Vialle (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing).
Geerts finished third in race one as teammate Thibault Benistant claimed the victory and Red Bull GasGas Factory Racing’s Simon Laengenfelder was runner-up.
Vialle was forced to recover from a mistake made on the opening lap as crossed the line 10th.
Race two was a thrilling bout between the Geerts and Vialle, with the KTM rider leading until the halfway point when he made a mistake that let the number 93 through. From there the Spaniard kept the pressure on but was unable to find his way back to the front, and finished P2, behind the new red plate holder. Laengenfelder was third.
The overall went to Geerts, with Benistant’s victory in the opening race enough to carry him to P2 on the day after finishing fourth in moto two. Laengenfelder completed to the podium at round 13 ahead of Kevin Horgmo (F&H Kawasaki) and Vialle. Geerts leads the title race by eight from Vialle, with Laegenfelder third, 106 points from the red plate.
