An additional pair of high-profile independent teams have been confirmed for the FIM World Supercross Championship (WSX) in Honda Genuine Honda Racing and Muc-Off FXR ClubMX, leaving just one organization to be announced.

The Honda Racing team is that of Australian Yarrive Konsky, which further becomes a truly international entity with efforts in America, Australia – competing as Honda’s factory operation – and now WSX.

After claiming a Monster Energy Supercross 450SX podium with four-time Australian SX1 champion Justin Brayton last season, this year as Fire Power Honda in the US saw Konsky’s team focus on 250SX East based out of the Millsaps Training Facility, while also entering three rounds of Lucas Oil Pro Motocross with Max Anstie in 450MX.

It’s understood that Anstie’s signing will see him step across to the SX2 class for WSX and he’ll also be in 250SX next year in America, while Australian MX2 leader Wilson Todd has been heavily-linked to a similar program in his return overseas following a stint in the MX2 World Championship during 2020-2021.

Aside from that pairing, the previous confirmation of Ken Roczen to WSX this year appears a certain fit for Honda Genuine Honda Racing, however, nothing has been made official at this point. Longtime Rockstar Energy Husqvarna rider Dean Wilson is reportedly in line for the other seat.

Meanwhile, the ClubMX entry led by Brandon Haas and partnered with Scott Jeffery is a surprise of sorts, expanding beyond the US in which it currently fields 450 and 250 programs indoors and outdoors using Yamaha equipment. Jeremy Martin, Phil Nicoletti and Enzo Lopes have so far been confirmed at its US team for 2023, but it’s not been announced if they will be part of the WSX roster.

“With the addition of Honda Genuine Honda Racing, who brings a unique combination of success in American and international competition, and Muc-Off FXR ClubMX, who has an established supercross team in the states with a state of the art training facility, to the WSX Championship it continues to reinforce a rock-solid foundation of experienced, competitive teams for this global championship,” said Adam Bailey, director – Motorsport of SX Global.

“From day one, our priority has been ensuring the highest levels of sophistication, talent and competition for this championship and these two licensed teams deliver on that promise in spades.”

Round one of the three-round 2022 pilot season will take place on 8 October in Cardiff, Wales, at Principality Stadium. The remaining two events – expected to be Melbourne, Australia, and Jakarta, Indonesia – are yet to be formally announced.

According to WSX organizer SX Global, the final team and further information on the series including additional rider announcements will be released in the coming weeks.
