The first Triple Crown race of the 2022 250SX East coast championship saw Cameron McAdoo emerge victorious after an action-packed night of Monster Energy Supercross in Arlington.

As the day got underway at AT&T Stadium, Jett Lawrence (Team Honda HRC) picked up where he left off in Minneapolis, notching the fastest lap heading into the night show.

In the opening main event of the night, Lawrence grabbed the holeshot and it looked as though he was set to take control of the race. As he entered the second corner he hit the ground, collecting Jeremy Martin (Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha) dropping the duo to the back of the field.

Out front, Stilez Robertson put his Rockstar Energy Husqvarna in the lead for the opening three laps, until Austin Forkner (Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha) made his way around and set sail out front eventually taking the win ahead of RJ Hampshire (Rockstar Energy Husqvarna) and Lawrence who recovered to fourth.

In the second main event, Robertson grabbed the holeshot and led the opening lap until Lawrence made his way past on lap two. Martin made his way into second with McAdoo and Forkner battling behind them.

McAdoo would get the better of Forkner and settle into third, but it was all Lawrence in the end, taking the win ahead of Martin and McAdoo, setting up a three-way tie for the win in the third main.

As the gate dropped on the final race of the night, Lawrence looked to have the holeshot but would hit the ground in turn one, allowing McAdoo to grab the lead. Forkner found himself in the lower half of the top 10 early, as Martin settled into the top five.

Lawrence charged through the pack, catching Forkner in the final three minutes, making a pass through the whoops. On the exit of the following corner, Lawrence clipped a tough block up the face of a jump, sending him into Forkner in mid-air.

The duo hit the ground hard, ending Forkner’s race with a suspected injury. Lawrence remounted, albeit slowed, while McAdoo cruised to the race and overall win.

Martin ended the night in second with 9-2-3 scores, as Lawrence recovered to 10th in the final moto to round out the overall podium.

Bouncing back from a rough opening round was Mitchell Oldenburg aboard his Smartop Bullfrog Spas MotoConcepts Honda to take fourth, while Fire Power Honda’s Jordon Smith finished fifth.

Enzo Lopes continued his impressive start to the season taking home sixth place aboard his Muc-Off ClubMX Yamaha with 11-7-6 finishes.

Forkner’s DNF in the final race saw him finish seventh overall, with no reports yet on his injury at the time of publishing.

Finishing behind him was Kyle Peters (Phoenix Racing Honda), with Phil Nicoletti (Muc-Off ClubMX Yamaha) and Robertson rounding out the top 10.

As the series heads to Daytona next week, McAdoo and Lawrence sit tied atop the standings with 47 points.
