Husqvarna Factory Racing has extended Rockstar Energy as its title sponsor in the US through 2023, despite the energy drink company dropping its support of the brand’s European teams.

A two-year extension for this year and next has now been formally announced in an arrangement that is now exclusive to the North American market.

Rockstar Energy has been the primary backer of Husqvarna Factory Racing since 2015, capturing the 450SX crown in 2018 with Jason Anderson and the 2020 Pro Motocross 450MX title with Zach Osborne, in addition to Osborne’s multiple 250SX and 250MX championships.

“Partnering with Rockstar Energy Drink seven years ago has led to many great milestones and achievements by the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing team,” commented Roger De Coster. “We look forward to reaching even higher highs with the support of Rockstar Energy throughout the upcoming racing seasons.”

PepsiCo general manager and CEO Faby Torres added: “It’s been an incredible journey with Husqvarna Motorcycles the last six seasons. In shifting our focus to North American racing efforts, I have no doubt we’ll continue with our successful partnership.

“Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing has been one of the best performing teams in the United States, giving our brand forward visibility. Looking ahead, with the riders and team personnel assembled for 2022, I’m confident we’ll continue to win more championship titles together.”

While this latest deal spans across American Supercross, Pro Motocross and off-road activities, Husqvarna’s factory MXGP World Championship teams – Standing Construct and the Nestaan MX2 effort for 2022 – won’t receive Rockstar Energy support moving forward. Its international enduro programs have also been dropped.
