Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha’s Jeremy Martin has reported his off-season wrist surgery a success, beginning his recovery as he looks ahead to the 2022 season.

Martin, 28, will remain on-board the factory team’s YZ250F for next year after re-signing with Star Racing in August.

“Quick update for all you folks,” he posted on social media. “Surgery went really well and I’m now in a cast on vacation chilling with my family and friends! Really excited to finally be able to have a healthy wrist for next year!”

It’s been a troubled season for the elder Martin brother in 2021, dislocating his shoulder in the opening round of Monster Energy Supercross 250SX East and ending his campaign altogether. He then broke the scaphoid bone in his wrist prior to the outdoors.

After winning the first moto and finishing second overall at Fox Raceway’s Lucas Oil Pro Motocross opener, Martin also won the opening moto at Thunder Valley, before crashing out that afternoon and then injuring his fingers while practicing the following week.

Martin returned at RedBud’s fourth round to claim fifth overall while still regaining fitness, then winning the overalls at Spring Creek and Budds Creek. Unfortunately, his year ended prematurely with another broken wrist at Ironman MX.
