Amidst a challenging outing for Hunter Lawrence at Fox Raceway, the Team Honda HRC rider revealed that he was ‘in the hurt locker all day’ as he salvaged fifth overall.

Recovering from illness, Lawrence started inside the top 10 in moto one before working his way forward to cross the line in sixth.

The 22-year-old made a better start in the second moto to fourth, before eventually dropping to sixth where he finished the race.

“Today was a tough day, but we managed to get fifth overall,” Lawrence stated. “Being sick the past two weeks hasn’t helped. I was in the ‘hurt locker’ all day, so happy to be walking away in one piece.

“Nothing really to jump up and down about, but we’re third in the championship still, which is good. Looking to finish it off.”

Lawrence emerged as a serious 250MX contender at Southwick, winning both motos to achieve the round victory. However, since then he has only been on the podium once – moto two at Budds Creek.

The Australian now has a 22 point buffer over RJ Hampshire (Rockstar Energy Husqvarna) in fourth, with just two races remaining in the series as the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship heads to Hangtown this Sunday for the season finale.
