Dean Wilson continues to improve despite multiple ailments early in the season, notching a season-best ninth-place finish at Southwick.

After announcing he’s been battling Epstien-Barr through the early stages of the 2021 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross season, Wilson suffered a huge crash that left him with internal bruising in round four at RedBud.

Escaping major injury, the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna rider lined up at Southwick to notch his best finish of the season so far, going 12-9 for ninth overall, despite a crash in moto two.

“In the first moto, unfortunately I had a fall and ended up 12th but the second moto was better, I rode pretty solid and passed for ninth on the last lap,” Wilson explained.

“It was my best effort and that’s all I had for today. It was a much better day after the crash I had last weekend and I’m very grateful to be here.”

Wilson now sits 12th overall in the championship as the series heads to Millville, Minnesota for round six at Spring Creek this Saturday.
