In his return from an injury sustained in a practice crash, Michael Mosiman’s bad luck continued at RedBud, despite solid race pace and fitness.

The TLD Red Bull GasGas rider was forced to sit out round three of the outdoor championship at High Point due to injury, making his return to action at RedBud this past weekend.

The day did not go to plan, however, with Mosiman going 35-15 on the day following two motos mired by bad luck. In the end he was optimistic, as he was happy with his speed and fitness on the day.

“RedBud was a rough day,” Mosiman explained. “We had a lot of good things going – my fitness was good and my speed was good.

“I had a guy crash in front of me in the first moto, I crashed on the start in the second moto and just some stuff I wish we could have gotten away from.

“It’s onto the next one and we will make progress. I’m happy with my speed, fitness and looking forward to getting back into a groove.”

Mosiman looked solid in the opening round of the championship at Fox Raceway, going 4-4 for fourth overall, but has yet to crack the top 10 since then.

He’ll get another opportunity to put his speed and fitness on display in hopes of finding the top five this weekend at Southwick for round five of the championship.
