Amateur standout Levi Kitchen is set to make his Pro Motocross debut this weekend at Red Bud with the Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha team.

After taking home wins in all six of his motos at Loretta Lynn’s Amateur National and being crowned AMA’s Amateur Motocross Rider of the Year in 2020, Kitchen signed with Star Racing in December.

He began training with the team following the announcement and while he’s still slated to race Loretta Lynn’s this fall, he’ll make his pro debut this weekend at RedBud MX.

“We’re looking forward to Levi Kitchen joining us for his Pro Motocross debut this weekend at RedBud,” Star Racing explained. “Levi will continue training for Loretta Lynn’s before finishing the last five nationals.”

Kitchen will exercise a new rule implemented by the AMA gives amateurs the opportunity to make their pro debut and still race the Pro Sport classes at Loretta Lynn’s.

The rule states that a rider can keep amateur eligibility provided they don’t score more than 40 points or race more than three professional races.

Kitchen is set to line up this Saturday, 3 July, at RedBud before returning to training ahead of Loretta Lynn’s this fall, then come back to Pro Motocross for the final five rounds of the series.
