Red Bull KTM’s Cooper Webb has been nominated for his first ESPY Award after his championship performance in the 2021 Monster Energy Supercross season.

Webb had an incredible Supercross season to capture his second 450SX title in three years, notching 13 podiums in 17 rounds and grabbing eight wins along the way.

His performance has him nominated for his first ESPY Award in the Best Athlete, Men’s Action Sports category, up against Japanese snowboarder, Yuto Totsuka, Norwegian snowboarder Marcus Kleveland, and two-time World Surfing League champion Gabriel Medina.

Webb’s 2021 nomination sees him join a list of the sports legends to be up for the award. The first of which was Chad Reed who was eventually joined by Ricky Charmichael, James Stewart, Ryan Dungey and Ryan Villopoto.

Only one of them, however, was able to bring home the award, with Ryan Dungey winning it back-to-back in 2015 and 2016 and is the last Supercross rider to win it.

The award is decided via fan vote, allowing Supercross and Motocross fans to vote for Webb through 9 July at 8pm ET via the ESPN website.

Fans can also tune in to the broadcast live on Saturday, July 10 at 8 pm ET on ABC from The Rooftop at Pier 17 at the Seaport in New York City.
