Ken Roczen had a consistent day at High Point for round three of the 2021 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, notching a pair of third-place finishes despite ongoing adjustments to his CRF450 throughout the day.

While High Point wasn’t a dream day for the Team Honda HRC rider, he managed a solid performance regardless of some difficulties throughout the first moto with bike setup.

“Today started off really good. I felt comfortable on the track, but we had a slightly different bike set up so in the first moto it really beat me up. I wasn’t that comfortable out there so I really couldn’t do that much. I still rode okay, but it wasn’t the best and I ended up third.

The two-time 450MX champion didn’t have it any easier in moto two, a bad start seeing him start from outside of the top 10 in the opening lap. An impressive charge through the field early on, however, led him to an eventual third-place finish.

“In the second moto, I was pinched off and had a really bad start,” he continued. “We did some adjustments to the bike that helped me out and I charged forward hard in the first half of the race and ended up having a good battle with Dylan [Ferrandis].

“I ended up with another third place for fourth overall, which is kind of weird, but in the end, I’m okay with it because we rode really well and charged hard. That’s all we can do.”

Though he lost the red plate at the end of the day to Ferrandis, Roczen is just three points back as the series takes a weekend off before heading to RedBud for round four of the season on 3 July.
