The field is set for round two of the Pro Motocross season.

Qualifying from the second round of the 2021 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross season is done and dusted with Ken Roczen and Justin Cooper topping the timesheets ahead of today’s racing.
In an uncharacteristically hard-packed morning of qualifying at Thunder Valley Raceway in Lakewood, Colorado, Ken Roczen (Team Honda HRC) led the 450 class in both qualifying sessions to continue his momentum from his round one win.
Roczen’s lap of 2:05.667s in the first session of the day set the benchmark, besting Adam Cianciarulo in second who clocked a 2:06.755s lap as he looks to rebound from a rough go at Fox Raceway’s opening round.
Cianciarulo’s teammate Eli Tomac came out firing for qualifying in his home race to take third as he looks to find the podium after posting 9-8 moto scores last weekend. He was the first rider in the 2:07s lap range.
Fourth was Christian Craig aboard his Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha ahead of teammate and last week’s winner Dylan Ferrandis who rounded out the top five.
Joey Savatgy (Rocky Mountain ATV/MC KTM) had a solid qualifying at round two to take sixth, with defending champion Zach Osborne (Rockstar Energy Husqvarna) taking the seventh spot.
The first rider in the 2:08s range was Chase Sexton (Team Honda HRC) who took eighth place. Sexton’s showed raw speed last week, running down Ferrandis to nearly win moto one and charging through the pack from last to 10th place in moto two.
The final two spots inside the top 10 went to Red Bull KTM teammates Cooper Webb and Marvin Musquin in that order, respectively.

Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha swept the top three spots in 250 class qualifying with Justin Cooper putting himself atop the timesheets in qualifying logging a 2:05.899s lap as the benchmark.
Cooper led Jeremy Martin and Nate Thrasher, with Martin’s lap of 2:07.292s just under two seconds back from the leader.
Fourth went to Hunter Lawrence (Team Honda HRC) as Michael Mosiman (TLD Red Bull GasGas) who took the final spot in the top five.
Sixth was last week’s winner Jett Lawrence with a lap of 2:07.978s. The Team Honda HRC youngster will look to retain the red plate, currently tied in the points standings with Jeremy Martin.
Alex Martin (Yamaha) was the first rider in the 2:08s range, Martin, unfortunately, crashed in the second session with an apparent hand injury.
Eighth was 250SX East champion Colt Nichols (Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha), who looks to rebound after a sluggish start to the season.
Ty Masterpool took ninth aboard his privateer GasGas entry, with Austin Forkner (Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki) rounding out the top 10.
Notable riders outside the top 10 were Pierce Brown in 15th, Jo Shimoda in 22nd, and front runner last week Max Vohland in 23rd.
