In what has been a luckless year for Cameron McAdoo, the Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki rider shared details last night of the leg injury sustained in a crash at the Pro Motocross opener that will sideline him indefinitely.

On the heels of a crash-filled end to the 2021 Monster Energy Supercross season that saw him fall from title contention with few rounds left in the series, McAdoo came into the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship with a clean slate, looking to contend for the 250MX title.

After finishing 15th in the first moto, McAdoo was hovering around 10th place near the halfway point of the second moto when he was collected with another rider, sending him to the ground.

“This is definitely not the news I would like to have, and very hard to accept as there is so much work put in to prepare for the season as a rider and team collectively,” McAdoo explained. “Unfortunately on Saturday in Moto 2, I came together with another rider and ended up landing with my knee straight out.”

McAdoo shared details on the injury, which will require surgery and put him out of the championship indefinitely, as the series rolls on to Thunder Valley in Colorado for round two this weekend.

“I knew right away that something wasn’t right,” he continued. “I got the results back today and my ACL pulled and fractured the top of my Tibia bone off.

“I will be getting it fixed next week and begin the process of working to get back healthy. Thank you all for the support through the good and bad. We’ll be back.”
