Marvin Musquin confirmed his intention to race through 2022 following his second-place performance at Saturday’s Monster Energy Supercross finale in Salt Lake City.

The Red Bull KTM rider has endured quite a bit of struggle over the last few seasons and by the time the gate dropped on the 2021 450SX championship, it had been 623 days since he’d last lined up for a Supercross.

His Supercross campaign eventually this year saw some ups and downs, with multiple minor injuries and bike problems forcing him out of a few rounds.

He turned things around for the final two rounds though, taking a win in the penultimate round and following it up with a strong second place this past Saturday, marking his third podium of the season.

“I’m happy to finish this season on a very high note, going 1-2 in Salt Lake City,” Musquin explained. “The chase was really fast and we are super high in altitude so the breathing was tough, but it felt so good to give my best like that.”

Musquin’s future in the sport has come into question recently, with many wondering if he’d continue racing. The Frenchman confirmed his intention to race through 2022 on the heels of his second place at Rice-Eccles Stadium.

“I’m really happy to give good results right now,” he continued. “It’s been a tough season but I’m showing that I’ve still got some speed and endurance. I’m excited, we’ll be back next year!”

Musquin and the rest of the field will now take a few weeks to prepare for the start of the 2021 Pro Motocross championship that is set to kick off on 29 May at Fox Raceway in Pala, California.
