It was a rough night for Muc-Off Honda Racing’s Mitchell Oldenburg at round 14 of the FIM World Supercross Championship, where injury will see the 450cc fill-in side-lined for this weekend’s round 15.

With only three rounds remaining in the Championship, this is a huge blow for the team.

“I am totally bummed about this as the crash was out of my control. I got hit on the left by one rider and jumped on by another, it was total chaos. I have torn my hand up and broken a finger and the swelling alone makes it impossible for me to grip my handlebars,” said Oldenburg.

Oldenburg’s results have improved each weekend in the 450 class, where in round 13 he achieved a career best, all while substituting for the injured Justin Brayton.

“I was feeling more and more comfortable on the CRF450R and the team and I were achieving the goals we set.  The 13^th in round 13 was a highlight for me.  I hope I can recover in time for the final two rounds in Salt Lake, we will see how my recovery goes.” Oldenburg added.

The team’s 250 rider, Mitchell Harrison rode to an impressive 6th, fending off several factory riders in his best race of the year.

“The overall result may not show it but this was by far my best race of the season.  I am getting stronger and more confident every time I hit the track.  The bike and team are working well.  I am looking forward to this weekend and want to finish strong in Atlanta.” Harrison said.

Whilst Brayton continues his recovery, he has maintained his commitment to the team, Muc-Off and Honda by doing off-track media activities.

“I want to be racing, the competitive itch is coming back but this injury is still getting the better of me and I need to be 100% before I line up again. Until then I will continue to do as much off-track stuff as possible,” finished Brayton.

Mitchell Harrison will be the only rider competing for Muc-Off Honda Racing this weekend as the team prepares for the third round in Atlanta.
