With three rounds of Supercross at Atlanta Motor Speedway on the horizon, Eli Tomac feels he’ll be at an advantage with track layouts similar to Daytona, where he’s won five out of the last six main events.

While his title chance to defend his 2020 450SX championship is slipping away it seems, Tomac is optimistic about the upcoming Monster Energy Supercross rounds at Atlanta.

On the heels of a win at Daytona that tied the record for most wins at Daytona, Tomac is curious to see how the tracks come together. With Daytona having different track builders than we’ll see in Atlanta, the Monster Energy Kawasaki rider suspects we’ll see a much different look come 10 April.

“Atlanta looks like it’s going to be three times Daytona again,” Tomac explained, “if not bigger. I think that’s going to be really cool for us. Different than probably anything we’ve ever seen, because I think there’s going to be even more jumps than there is in Daytona, but we still have that length of the track.”

The long, high-speed sections of the upcoming layouts, are something Tomac believes will favor his riding style, as well as the current characteristics of his KX450F.

“I think my riding style,” he continued, “the way my bike is set up, I think it’s going to suit us very well. I think we’ll have [an] advantage there, I guess we’ll find out soon enough.”

The Supercross series returns 10 April to kick off the Atlanta residency, which will see three races in the span of seven days.
