The end of the road for Jordon Smith’s 2021 250SX West campaign has come prematurely, a dislocated shoulder putting him on the sidelines for the remainder of the season.

It’s been a tough season from the opening round forward for the Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki rider., with multiple crashes leading to nagging injuries throughout his bid for the championship.

His heat race crash at the last of three Monster Energy Supercross rounds inside AT&T Stadium though has put a halt to his Supercross season, Smith took to Instagram to update on his condition.

“It’s been a pretty rough year for me so far,” Smith explained. “A lot of injuries, not much riding, a lot of crashes. It just seems like one thing leads to another. As most of you saw probably on Saturday in Dallas, I had a pretty big crash in the first heat race there and went down and dislocated my shoulder.”

Luckily Smith’s injury does not require surgery and he’s planning a return for the Pro Motocross season. Time and rehab progress will determine whether he’ll make the opening round of the series.

“I’ve dislocated it once before in 2013 and we just rehabbed it,” he continued. “Got it back strong again and I’ve never had any problems out of it until now. So that’s the plan this time, is to just try and rehab it up, start getting ready for outdoors, we need a little bit of a reset.”
